Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone is encouraging Parish Councils, community groups and schools across the county to apply for funding through her Road Safety Fund, which supports local projects aimed at making our roads safer.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects that align with the priorities set out in Danielle’s Safe and Sound Plan. The fund aims to help communities deliver practical, community led solutions that make our roads safer for all users.
Recent awards include Newnham Parish council, which received £1,884 for a new speed indicator device, and Great Addington Parish Council, awarded £2,500 for vehicle-activated signs to help reduce speeding through the village.
Danielle said: “Road safety is one of the issues communities raise with me most often, and the fund is designed to help them take action.
“The grants give local groups the tools to make practical improvements that make roads safer in their neighbourhoods. I would encourage any group with concerns and a solution to apply.”
