 The number of complaints referred to the NorthantsPCC

  1. The nature of the complaint
  2. The outcome, whether the appeal/referral was upheld or otherwise
  3. Your complaint/appeal handling process

The number of complaints referred to the NorthantsPCC – In the period specified, the OPFCC received 1156 complaints, 782 were resolved in the OPFCC and 374 referred to the Force’s Professional Standards Department.

The nature of the complaint – Please find attached document entitled ‘FOI 09012024-1 Complaints Data’ which sets out the nature of allegations against officers. 

The outcome, whether the appeal/referral was upheld or otherwise.  The attached document entitled ‘FOI 09012024-1 Complaints Data’ provides information relating to the outcomes of complaints received by the OPFCC. Where complaints are listed as resolved, this means it was resolved to the complainant’s satisfaction by the OPFCC Customer Service Team. All other non-live complaints were referred to the Force’s Professional Standards Department and processed in line with Independent Office for Police Conduct Statutory Guidance. The OPFCC does not hold any information relating to these complaints as it held by Northamptonshire Police. It is important to understand that The Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) and Northamptonshire Police are two separate legal entities. Information regarding operational policing matters is the responsibility of Northamptonshire Police, therefore the OPFCC does not hold any of the information you have requested. Northamptonshire Police’s Information Unit may hold some of the information you are seeking.
