The Early Intervention and Youth Support Service

Support for Families

The Early Intervention and Youth Team is made up of over 30 highly skilled professionals who have knowledge and experience of issues facing children, young people and families. We understand that there are times when we all need additional support and help and our practitioners provide just that.

What can you expect when your referral is accepted by us:

One of our practitioners will initially contact you via phone to discuss the referral that has been made and talk about what support you would like as a family or for a young person. Where appropriate, they will then arrange a home visit to come and meet you. Together a collaborative plan of support will be put together, which our Practitioner will support you with alongside other professionals for up to 12 weeks.

Various different types of support can be offered, from support at meetings or appointments, advice on next steps and way forwards, to parenting workshops and direct 1:1 working with children and young people in need.

The team have been providing early intervention support for a number of years. The team has grown and developed and we have a wide range of practitioners with varying specialities including knife crime and exploitation and also specialisms supporting families dealing with conflict or domestic abuse issues.

The team work with the family, to ensure support services are tailored to meet their individual needs. We want the service to work for each and every family it supports. Support lasts for up to 12 weeks

If you are not eligible for these services, our Senior Practitioners have a wealth of knowledge and they will share alternative pathways of support with the professionals who raised the referral.
