The Northamptonshire Federation of Women’s Institutes has signed up to the Women’s Charter launched in December 2025 by Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone.

The Women’s Charter gives businesses and organisations across Northamptonshire a platform to show their commitment to working towards the safety of women and girls.

Organisations that sign the Charter gain access to a toolkit of ongoing training packages, support and advice to help them ensure that they are creating respectful and inclusive spaces for women.

The Northamptonshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, formed in 1918, has members in Branches in every corner of the county.

Danielle said that she was honoured to visit WI House in Moulton, together with her Deputy Commissioner Marianne Kimani, so that they could say thank you, and to build on the relationship with this influential group of women who have a history of changing things for the better.

Danielle said: “The Women’s Institute is an amazing organisation with a long and proud history of changing things for the better.

“I am honoured that the Northamptonshire Federation has chosen to sign up to the Charter and is putting their support behind the campaign to create safer and more inclusive places for women.”

Signing up to the Charter is a pledge by an organisation or workplace to have policies that support women, to take women’s concerns seriously when they are raised and to support other organisations in creating a county where everyone can feel safe and respected.

The Northamptonshire Federation of Women’s Institutes joins more than 60 organisations have already signed up, helping to create an informed and powerful community across Northamptonshire.
