Decision taken
The PFCC has taken the decision to approve the business case to establish a joint Digital structure
which is sufficiently resourced to provide a fit for purpose IT support service as well as a Digital
Implementation team to deliver technical projects and technical workstreams of large change
programmes. The new team will be a professional digital team, following industry standard ways of
working, and delivering benefits from technology and a digitally enabled workforce to
Northamptonshire’s Police and Fire services. It also proposes that the implementation of the structure
processes and tooling, along with the technology to share systems, are run as a separate programme
of work, and therefore requests additional one-off funding to do this. The total cost of the
recommended option is £5,318,285.

Professional financial and legal advice has been sought to ensure the decision best supports
business need and represents value for money.
