Decision taken
The PFCC has taken the decision to implement the NJC settlement of 1.5% for Firefighters as set out
in the NJC Circular NJC/4/21. In addition to this, the PFCC has also agreed in principle to implement
the 1.5% NJC proposed settlement for Brigade Managers subject to confirmation and NJC circulars
being issued, approve the use of the PFCC contingency in 2021/22 to meet the majority of the costs
and ratify the decision made in April 2021 to not award a pay increase for Fire Staff for 2021 in line
with the Government directions as part of the 2021/22 budget.

Professional financial and legal advice has been sought to ensure the decision best supports
business need and represents value for money.
