HMICFRS Report – An inspection of the east midlands regional response to serious and organised crime
In 2022, we changed how we inspect this aspect of policing. We now incorporate inspections of the ten regions of England and Wales, as well as the nine regional organised crime units (ROCUs) and 43 police forces, within PEEL inspections.
This report includes sections on the following:
- Regional findings – a summary of inspection evidence.
- The ROCU and five forces – a summary of the findings from our inspection, with a graded judgment.
The forces in this report are Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

“The PFCC has considered this report and accepts all recommendations. He discussed this report at the time of its publication with the Chief Constable to seek appropriate reassurance. He is pleased to report that recommendations have been adopted including the PCCs in the East Midlands region agreeing multi-year funding for EMSOU.”
