The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner has awarded certificates to her dedicated anti-social behaviour team in recognition of their work keeping Northamptonshire safer.
The ASB Early Intervention Team was launched in January and is believed to be the first of its kind in the UK working with frontline police officers to reduce offending among young people.
Since the team launched, their specialist Targeted Intervention Officers have received 105 referrals from Neighbourhood Policing Teams to step in and support young people showing emerging concerns.
Danielle Stone took the opportunity to praise their problem-solving approach at a time when demand has been increasing on Police.
During the 12 months to end of September 2025, recorded ASB incidents increased by 19.4% year-on-year (+2480 incidents), according to Northamptonshire Police’s ASB Action Plan.
Danielle believes the vital work of her team can help to strengthen response and protect young people from crime.
She said: “Experiencing anti-social behaviour can be deeply unsettling and isolating. By investing in strong partnerships across my office and Policing, we can work collaboratively to tackle ASB at its root.
“My ASB team deserve to be recognised for their approach in preventing harm and building safer communities.
“In a short space of time they’ve given police officers a constructive pathway for a young person who has been involved in low-level ASB and provided a way to support them before their behaviour escalates into criminal activity.”
Police can make a referral to Danielle’s Team as soon as they notice issues with a young person beginning to surface.
Once referred, specialists step in to provide preventative education linked to their poor behaviour at home or in the community.
Sessions will be delivered on a one-to-one basis or through longer intervention with the whole family for up to 12 weeks and can cover topics like criminal damage, arson, public disorder or causing a nuisance.
Their work has also been rolled out to schools too, as part of efforts to support Danielle’s mission to protect young people from crime.
Keely Cox, Neighbourhood Police Sergeant, works with the team in Corby to tackle ASB in communities.
She said: “We have now integrated making referrals to the ASB Early Intervention Team as part of our process when dealing with youths causing ASB in Corby town centre.
“Having specialists in our office working with us makes information sharing easy and allows us to keep up to date with how referrals are progressing.
“We hope to work on a project with the Team over the summer in Corby town centre to continue tackling poor behaviour.”
