Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone is hosting a groundbreaking conference focused on tackling violence against women and girls.
The event, taking place on December 10 in Northampton, will bring together an audience of policy makers and leaders from across the justice system, health, and education to discuss how they can collaborate to reduce violence against women and girls by at least 50%, a commitment outlined by the Government in 2024.
Danielle will be joined at the conference by her two Chiefs, Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet and Chief Fire Officer Nikki Watson.
A group of high-profile speakers from across the country will be sharing their expertise and exploring different approaches to tackling misogyny, addressing injustice, and supporting victims. They will be setting out how to challenge the system, coming together as leaders and organisations to reduce violence against women and girls.
Bringing together leaders and experts dedicated to driving meaningful change, speakers include College of Policing CEO Sir Andy Marsh, Michael Conroy, Centre for Women’s Justice CEO Harriet Wistrich, Sistah Space CEO Ngozi Fulani, Dr Hannana Siddiqui from Southall Black Sisters and Assistant Chief Constable Emma James of Northamptonshire Police, who will be speaking about her role as National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for honour-based abuse.

At the end of the event, the speakers, Danielle, and Ivan will come together for a panel discussion and Q&A session curated by Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, Chief Fire Officer from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Sabrina will close the event by developing actions for policy makers to take away based on the contributions of our speakers throughout the day, pushing us towards working together to ensure women and girls can live free of violence in their homes and communities.
Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone is determined to make real, positive changes and reduce violence against women and girls. She said: “This is a groundbreaking conference that I am truly proud to have brought together. Across every sector, we must collaborate to make meaningful change and protect all women and girls against violence and suffering.
“I have asked this group of influential speakers, all national leaders in their fields, to come together and challenge our usual ways of working.
“We are all committed to driving real change and know that the current status quo won’t work for us and will not keep women and girls safe.
“This conference is not just about listening, it is about developing real actions that will tackle violence against women and girls.”
