A graphic with a deep pink and purple gradient background featuring soft, glowing light effects. Centered in large white text is the title “The Northamptonshire Women’s Charter.” Subtle abstract shapes and highlights decorate the background.

Daventry Town Council has committed to making their workplace safer for women by signing up to Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone’s Women’s Charter.

The council joins over fifty other organisations across Northamptonshire who are working towards making women and girls safer in our county, including eight other Town and Parish Councils:

  • Kettering Town Council
  • East Farndon Parish Council
  • Hackleton Parish Council
  • Hargrave Parish Council
  • Hollowell and Teeton Parish Council
  • Nether Heyford Parish Council
  • Staverton Parish Council
  • Wappenham Parish Council

Signing the Charter signifies that businesses and organisations are committed to listening to women and girls in their workplaces and are taking steps to create inclusive spaces where everyone can feel safe.

Daventry Town Council Ranger Charlotte Jones

Daventry Town Council said: “Daventry Town Council is proud to support the Northamptonshire Women’s Charter, led by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Danielle Stone. By signing the Charter, we are committing to promote a culture that does not tolerate harmful behaviour towards women and girls and to take all reports of harassment or intimidation seriously.

“We are determined to help make our community a safe, respectful and inclusive place for everyone.”

The Charter gives access to training packages and guidance through the free Charter Toolkit and ongoing support that will help to create a better and safer culture by responding effectively to women’s safety concerns.

Danielle said: “I want to thank Daventry Town Council for signing up to my Women’s Charter and joining so many other organisations that are committed to making Northamptonshire safer for women.

“Signing the Charter is a demonstration of how violence against women and girls is being taken seriously.”
