Danielle Stone has been elected as Police, Fire and Commissioner – the first woman to hold the role.
Danielle, the successful Labour candidate, signed the oath of Office following her election today and will formally take up the role on Thursday, 9 May.
The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner oversees policing and fire and rescue services in Northamptonshire, managing the budget, setting the precept – the amount of council tax that is levied for police and fire services – and being the voice of the people in these vital services.
They are also responsible for appointing the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer.
Danielle said she was ‘privileged to have won’ and was looking forward to starting the role next week.
