The back of a person is shown, they are wearing a green vest with the words Immediate Justice printed on them

The Immediate Justice programme has reached new milestones this month, with 300 offenders now having gone through the programme, bringing the total hours of reparative work to 1500 since its inception in December 2023.

The Immediate Justice programme provides swift and visible consequences for anti-social behaviour, giving offenders the opportunity to give back and reflect on their actions through meaningful work.

A person wearing a bright green safety vest and black rubber boots is working in a garden area. They are standing on freshly tilled soil, surrounded by plastic crates filled with plants and seedlings. In the background, there are wooden structures like a shed and other gardening equipment, with greenery visible in the distance.

Offenders who have committed low-level crimes, often for the first time, are referred to the programme and given a minimum of 4 hours work in a community that could include picking litter, cutting back bushes, repairing play equipment, painting, and ground-working.

By connecting with communities, engaging with stakeholders, working in areas marred by anti-social behaviour, feeding back to local people, and supporting offenders, the Immediate Justice programme has given offenders the opportunity to repair harm they have caused to communities in over 70 locations across Northamptonshire.
