The Immediate Justice Team from the Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone have been facilitating reparative work in Daventry, in partnership with Daventry Town Council.

Immediate Justice Supervisor Clive Sparling met with the council and local police officers to identify areas of concern in Daventry that the programme could help to clear up.

A person wearing a blue shirt and grey trousers is standing on a paved area, facing away from the camera, and appears to be working on clearing overgrown vegetation. The person is surrounded by green bushes and plants, with piles of cut branches and leaves scattered on the ground. A wooden bench with a water bottle on it is visible to the left, and brick steps lead up to another level in the background.      An outdoor scene featuring two wooden benches on a paved area. Behind the benches is a low brick wall with dense green bushes and trees. In the background, partially visible buildings include one with a slanted roof and another brick structure on the left. The sky is partly cloudy with patches of blue.

Two people who have committed anti-social behaviour were referred to the programme by police officers. Instead of being prosecuted, they spent 4 hours each repaying for their crimes by clearing pathways and cutting back vegetation in Tamar Square and the Medway Grange estate, aiming to make the areas a cleaner, more welcoming place to live.

This work in the area has taken place as part of the Home Office’s Safer Streets Summer campaign.

A person wearing a black shirt, black shorts, white socks, and black shoes is bending over near a blue railing on a paved walkway, appearing to remove weeds or plants. Tools and plant debris are scattered nearby. In the background, a brick building with a partially visible sign reading "PIKE" is surrounded by trees and bushes.      A paved walkway leads to a brick building with a white door. A blue handrail runs along the left side of the path, flanked by trees with green foliage. The sky is cloudy, and additional buildings are visible in the background.

The campaign is being led locally by Danielle’s office, in partnership with police, fire and rescue, councils, schools, health services, business, transport and community organisations.
