Decision taken
Nick Adderley was confirmed as the next Chief Constable for Northamptonshire on Friday 6
July 2018, following a Confirmation Hearing held by the Police and Crime Panel on 5 July 2018.
A secondment agreement was established and agreed between Northamptonshire and
Staffordshire stating that Mr Adderley would work for Northamptonshire OPCC between
0001hrs Thursday 12 Jul 2018 to 2359hrs 5 August 2018 at his agreed salary of £150,000 pa.
Throughout this secondment Mr Adderley commenced his preparatory research and work
prior to taking up the role of Chief Constable at 0001hrs Monday 6 August 2018. This
secondment period was considered invaluable to allow Mr Adderley to understand the
context and current situation, conduct detailed discussions with the PCC and wider members
of the OPCC along with other regional and national partners to identify areas of best practice
that could be incorporated into Northamptonshire Police
A salary payment of £2,654.18 has been authorised to Nick Adderley for the period of his
secondment to the OPCC from 12 July to 5 August 2018. Whilst on secondment his basic salary
was set by Staffordshire Police as an Assistant Chief Constable. This payment is to bring Mr
Adderley’s salary to the agreed level for Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police.
