“Regarding the use of risk assessment checklists in domestic abuse and related services provided or comissioned by your organisation:
- Is it a standard provision or requirement in contracts with third-party providers of relevant services (e.g. domestic abuse services, victim support), for them to use the DASH risk assessment checklist as part of their service?
- Is it a standard provision or requirement in contracts with third-party providers of relevant services, for them to use the DARA risk assessment checklist?
If the answer to any of the above is more complicated than a “yes/no”, please provide a short explanation.
If you are able to provide part but not all of the information requested, please do so, rather than rejecting the whole request.”
Response
I can confirm the Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) holds some of the information requested.
- Is it a standard provision or requirement in contracts with third-party providers of relevant services (e.g. domestic abuse services, victim support), for them to use the DASH risk assessment checklist as part of their service?
Referrals by the Police to providers of Project PIPA (Preventing intimate partner abuse) are subject to the DASH risk assessment. The Police also utilise a Domestic Abuse checklist in addition to the DASH assessment, to further assess suitability.
- Is it a standard provision or requirement in contracts with third-party providers of relevant services, for them to use the DARA risk assessment checklist?
DARA is a first responder tool therefore the OPFCC does not hold the information requested. The OPFCC and Northamptonshire Police are two separate legal entities. Information regarding operational policing matters is the responsibility of Northamptonshire Police, therefore the Force’s Information Unit may hold some of the information you are seeking.
