Response

I am writing to advise you that, following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that some of the information you requested is not held by the Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

Since the opening of the new dual carriageway on the A34 between Round Spinney and Moulton, the Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner has received the following complaints:

Our Ref – LP/002/20 –  04/02/20 – lack of compliance with 40mph speed limit and request for speed enforcement. The Safer Roads Team advised that they would conduct ad hoc speed enforcement but only for those motorists travelling well in excess of the speed limit as they considered the speed limit to be inappropriate for the look and feel of the road. The Safer Roads Team also raised their concerns regarding the disproportionate speed limit with NCC.

Our Ref – LP/440/22 – 12/05/22– concerns regarding the use of the A43 as a track for motorbike/car racing. The Neighbourhood Policing Team confirmed that they are seeking an injunction to prevent further activity.

It is important to understand that The Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) and Northamptonshire Police are two separate legal entities.
