Safe and Sound Communities Fund

This fund, provided by the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, provides grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 for initiatives that support the aims of the new Safe and Sound Plan.

The Plan is framed around three missions that span police, fire and rescue, community safety and criminal justice. It is a strategy that will help us to work in partnership to best serve victims and communities across the county.

The three missions are:

  1. A drive to rebuild trust and confidence with visible and accessible community services in both towns and rural areas
  2. A focus on professionalism and standards
  3. Developing stronger public safety partnerships. This will mean tackling shared challenges across community safety and criminal justice agencies.

The four policy tests are:

  1. Safer communities – confident, engaged and protected
  2. Safer victims – the heart of a stronger public safety system
  3. Sound leadership – high standards and quality services
  4. Sound money management – innovation, efficiency and social value.

The fund will prioritise projects supporting children, women and young people, with grants between £1,000 and £10,000 available.

To be successful, groups will need to showcase how their project can reduce harm or offending, improve community engagement or support vulnerable people across the county.
